Art show at last

I'm not christian, but I do agree with the line, God helps those who help themselves. While help is always appreciated, and sometimes you do have to ask, it is better if, where possible, you try on your own first. You never know what you can achieve until you try, right? So here I am, attempting to put on my own charity art show. My friend Dan helped arrange a cheap venue, which is in a cafe, so no need for food. It also has a lot of pictures up so space for paintings. I have found 2 other artists to put on some work with mine, I have my camera, my paintings and my model. Well, my cousin, but she is a beauty in her own right and should make some pretty special pictures with the right backing.

I found a site called Damned to hell, which has about 5000 people damned already, I find it amusing and have had a little fun looking through a few of them.


Showing people's opinion of George W Bush is not very high.... Wonder what he'll have to do to get out.

A very long day indeed

Today is my grandmothers funeral, I feel a strange need to wear something she'd approve of, but what? She never liked me wearing black so that would be a contradiction in itself. I'm glad she's gone, there is no pain now, she's free. If reincarnation is real, what will she come back as? She gave up wealth for love, that's more than most people would do.

So off to wash some black clothes and tidy my house. I have an interview tomorrow at the prison, that will be a thrilling job lol. Oh well work is work, must not complain.

So here's to a very long day indeed.

Organising an Art Show!

Or at least trying to, since there aren't many people willing to assist. You'd think the word charity would get people wanting to help but it doesn't. No one is interested, figures really. I need to contact the charity that we plan on donating the funds to, not really sure what I am supposed to say to them mind.

"Oh hi, I'm holding an art show and we're giving you 75% of the profits, hope you like it!" Not quite right is it. Considering I won't know how much we're going to make if anything, and how do you make something like this successful? Who knows. I need somewhere big but the cost of the room is painfully high. Oh well, we will sort something out I'm sure.

Anyway I'll let you know when we're closer to organised.

A website wonder

Well more a wonder how I ever got as far as I have. No wonder you have to take courses in Dreamweaver, its so mixed up and messy, I've worked with programs that combine WYSIWYG and HTML but never one that made it look so complicated. If a picture doesn't work, it just doesn't show it. So you spend ages trying to work out why the html says theres a picture there but its not showing up. And then theres the frames. Agh! I hate frames, but I hate scrolling to the top to change page too.

But I'm a determind fool and I will get this done. Considering I've no formal qualifications in this I think I'm doing quite well, I've done worse. I've actually been asked to produce a website for the Southern Camerilla group. This pleases me, but at the same time, I've had barely any imput as to what they want. The fact that they've managed in a month, that which would have taken me about 45 minutes doesn't help.

My friend Toby owns the site, I met him via a site called UK Metal Underground, unfortunately no longer running so far as I can tell. Lisa has a photography company I think so she's concentrating on that I suppose. Anyway, I entered a competition on his site (and won! A rare thing I can tell you), and we've been talking since, he was kind enough to let me use some of his webspace for free, I wish there was a way to say thank you but I am not exactly a rich person.
